Personal Licenses
You will need a personal licence if you wish to sell alcohol under a premises licence. However, if you wish to supply alcohol in a members club, or simply provide regulated entertainment or supply hot food or drink between 11:00pm and 5:00am you will not need a personal licence.
A personal licence is portable, like a driving licence, lasts for ten years and is granted by your Local Authority. In order to be granted a personal licence you must apply on the approved form and you must
- Be over 18 years old;
- Possess an accredited licensing qualification - the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH);
- Not have had a personal licence forfeited in the last five years;
- Pay the appropriate fee;
- Supply two passport style photographs, signed by a solicitor or anyone else with standing in the community;
- Not have a conviction for any relevant or foreign offences which are not spent
