Street and House to House Collections
Charitable organisations who are planning to hold a collection of money (or articles for sale or use), or a sale of articles (including badges, emblems or publicity materials) in a place where the public have access or by means of visits from house to house (including business premises) are required to hold a permit from the local authority in which the collection is to take place. There is no charge for obtaining a permit.
After the collection has taken place, a statement signed by an accountant, detailing the amount collected and any expenses incurred, must to be submitted to the local authority within one month of the collection date.
